I'm an Island girl, and always will be, regardless of where I was born (Virginia) or where I may live (currently, Maryland). The thing is, I grew up in Puerto Rico and the tropical influence and penchant for color are hard to shake. Not that I would ever want to shake it, because the drama of intense color is the one thing that inspires me above all else. Infusing bold colors into a set of beads or a pot full of satin cords is the main objective of my work.

My "formal education" includes a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State, and a Master of Science in Counseling from Johns Hopkins. Meh. If I could be 18 again and had the chance for a do-over, I'd go for Art. However, at my age, I'd rather poke my eye out with a fork than go back to school. So, at this point, I'm pretty content exactly where I am, doing exactly what I'm doing.

When I'm not locked in the bead room making beads, or standing at the stove cooking cords, or doing the Mad Scientist thing with the bath, body, and candle stuff, I really dig cooking, watching movies and TV shows on DVD, and shopping online.

My husband is my best friend and the love of my life, my daughter is charming and funny, and my mom is the coolest little old lady you could ever meet. I have two grandkids, three dogs, three cats, and one granddog. We all live happily ever after in Northeast Maryland.
